Carrera 1965 No. 1 Eau de Parfum

Carrera 1965: Four Fragrances, One Founding Year

Carrera Jeans began in Verona, Italy, in 1965. The Tachella brothers started with a simple belief: great products start with care.

That year is the name on a collection of four eau de parfums. No poetic titles, no long backstory to decode. Just numbers, and four very different scents.

Part of the Private Collection, Carrera 1965 sits at the premium end of the range. Here's the lineup.

For her

No. 1 is oriental with a floral heart. Cinnamon and black pepper open it warm and spicy, then ylang ylang, saffron and tuberose take over. Patchouli and cedarwood close it out.

No. 9 goes the other way. Neroli, bergamot and blackcurrant up front, then a bouquet of magnolia and may lily. Patchouli, sandalwood and cashmere keep it soft.

For him

No. 5 pairs saffron with black pepper for a spicy, leathery character, then rests on cypriol wood, amber and white musk.

No. 6 is a citrus fragrance with amber and wood underneath. Bergamot and grapefruit open it, cinnamon adds warmth, and the base brings tonka bean, vanilla, tobacco and guaiac wood.

Which one first?

Start with the mood you're after. Soft and bright? Look at No. 9. Warm and spicy? No. 1 or No. 5. Citrus that turns smooth and sweet? No. 6.
